PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!testpipe problem!!!
i have an 06 base model has rsr exhaust and i just put some test pipes on ther....i started the car evrything was cool...drove it for 10 min and cel came on ..i rest the computer and it came on again...then i noticed i was at a light and when i took off i notice smoke coming out .....i thought it would maybe smoke a little at first but not all the time,,,,when im crusin its fine its just when i stop for a second like at a light then i take off thats when its smoke....any ideas how to fix this.......please help i dont want to ruin anything....
the cel will keep coming on...use the spark plug non-fouler method ($15 fix for the O2 sensors). As for the smoke/smell - most ppl say it goes away after the pipes are 'broekn in'. I gutted my OE cats and it made the exhuast smell, but every day is less and less.

As mentioned above pick up 2 sets of non-foulers (spark plug). Drill one set out with a 1/2" drill bit and leave the other set as is. Screw the non drilled set into the test pipe. I suggest screwing your o2 sensor into the drilled set before screwing them into the non drilled set already in the pipes. The sensor is a pretty tight fit and when trying to torque them you'll risk breaking the drilled non foulers in half (did it on mine) if they're already installed. Hope that made sense... Anyway, it should look like this (disregard the crack in mine
).
As far as the smell, it'll go away to some degree. You'll always have a bit of a smell but not as pronounced as in the beginning. The smoke, well that'll dissipate to some degree as well and is usually quite noticeable in stop and go situations and heavy acceleration. Just check your rear view mirror and you'll see it. I noticed it a lot more as it got warmer outside.
ok new problem.... today i went to put the stock cats back on to see if it would smoke....but the 02 sensors were melted in the test pipes....finaly got them out and used the help method and still smoke ....like crazy smoke...when i let sit like at a light and then i take offf alot of smoke comes out i dont think that is normal...i can understand a little smoke but this was whit smoke....so anyways i put the stock cats back on and i had to weld the o2 in b/c they were ****ed when i got them out......and also what is the correct way to reset ecu......maybe that was the prob....i disconnected the battery cable and the ses light went off........and today when i putt stock cats on the smoke kinda went away.....im not sure what is going on.....im just frustrated now.
