It's not rigid, it's just a pre-bent silicone hose that comes in a bunch of different colors. If it was $25 or something I would get as a dress up item but, at $125+, I just don't see the sence. No HP increase, and most likely weights a few onces more than a stock tube. I guess you have to ask WHY? ....I asked a rep at SEMA on Saturday, the only thing he said was about the colors then handed me a business card for the shop he worked at and said he could do better on the price, again I ask why would I want it? He didn't have a response......

So ask yourself, WHY? If you think it's worth it for you to spend $125 on something just to have it, go ahead and buy one otherwise, what improvements does it make over the factory one? I would rather have a carbon fiber one if I was going to spend the money on something useless that was just for looks.

Something no one seems to mention about the silicone hose (induction tube) and the CF tube is there is no accordion flex, which is why I am considering one… I’m sure the rippled flex part of the tube does not impeded airflow much, but a straight tube with no deviation in the bore would be better.

The one thing I’m not certain about with the Samco type tube is lack of mid-support bracket to mount from… it would just be throttle body and air box mount with no support in between – has anyone found this to be a problem?

I have the tube with my gruppe m intake. I have no issues, its not THAT soft its pretty rigid. Even though there is no support i have zero issues! I love it

Thanks for the response… so I presume the Samco length is a little shorter than OEM so it can slide within coupler on each end – correct? If so, what length coupler? 3-3.5” each?

The intake itself acts as the coupler. So its as long if not a tad longer than stock. mine i think is about 1/4 inch longer than stock. You dont need any couplers to run it you just need two hose clamps

the intake is curved on the throttle body end and straight on the MAF end. you simply slide the tube over the throttle body and clamp with a hose clamp. then slide the straight MAF end over the MAF housing and clamp it down. thats it
