Default WOOT! HKS Exhaust is on!!!

2003 SB Performance, just had my HKS TD HiPower installed by Batlground Engineering today and it is AWESOME!

Driving Impressions: I dunno if it's a power loss or something with the ECU, but it seems like 1st gear and to a lesser degree 2nd gear is less torquey but overall much smoother. Those with the early models will know how "notchy" the low gears can be and it seems like it's completely gone. However, I can still peel out with the same gusto from 3000rpms on. For straight aways, I didn't see any big changes on 0-60 tims. Right around the transition of 4000 do you feel how much more flow the HKS is giving you at WOT. It's also nice because it really does "feel" like your car is 40lbs lighter.

Appearance: Personally, I think the Ti tips are nice but I would have settled with one piece SS for a cleaner smoother look. The overall architecture of the exhaust though is pretty cool and nice to look at from behind.

Sound: This exhaust is a two-headed beast. From ignition to 3000rpms, it is louder and rumbles lower than stock; it is much more civilized than I thought. At idle you can almost barely hear it, but if you gunnit, you get a louder boom of an exhaust. At high speeds and high revs, it switches over from low to about an octave higher and louder than stock.

Overall, I love this thing and am soooooooo glad I picked up this bad boy. Anyone in the ATL is always welcome to take a listen. Pics to follow (once I borrow a digital cam from my buddy).

Dammmnnnn EVERYONE has HKS nowadays .... so much for the "exotic" sound it makes because soon enough EVERYONE'S z is going to sound like that.
