Default Stock Y-Pipe has a cat in it?

I read somewhere the stock y-pipe has a small catalytic converter in it. Is this true?

You might be thinking of the VQ30DE motor they used in the 1995-1999 Maxima/I30. The y-pipes for those engines had pre-cats and are pretty restrictive.
