Stock Y-Pipe has a cat in it?
I read somewhere the stock y-pipe has a small catalytic converter in it. Is this true?

Y pipe has a resonator?? I never know that....

my 04.5, the 05 and 03 I did exhaust swaps on didn't either.
The do have two flex joints, heat shield and short, crush bent branches.

You might be thinking of the VQ30DE motor they used in the 1995-1999 Maxima/I30. The y-pipes for those engines had pre-cats and are pretty restrictive.
