I am trying to figure out what you are asking here. There are a # of people here using open dumps to atmosphere from their wastegates. So I see no problem with that...
Are you talking about completely removing the exhaust from the car? Dude, that would be insanely loud, give you a gasoline high while sitting in traffic and running your engine and the bottom, sides of the car would be dirty as crap I would think...

I think you should put a fart can on it so it will sound like a trimmer.

The exhaust is there for a reason.

If you want a similar effect without fuking your car up, go to an exhaust shop and have them build and weld up a straight-through exhaust with no resonators or mufflers.

Members have mentioned that the exhaust manifold or header is there for a reason: to collect exhaust gasses and move them away from the engine. Like the dragsters above, the engine operates more efficiently with headers.

Also consider driving the car on a cool day. After the engine is shut off, the inside of the motor is exposed to cold air. This is not good for a hot motor.

Sorry but the idea is bad.

u'll burn up ur fricken engine up! those drag cars are specifically tuned for that. u might as well cut a hole in ur hood, and take off ur plenum and let the air dump into ur engine. if u open up ur exhaust that much theres really no way to open up ur intake that much. plus it will be damn loud and sound like ****. there was a clip of it b4.

I think he wants the QTP setup. I would only do it on a Boosted car; hence SRT-4. My friend also has it.

Let us know what you do and how it works.

350Zrich - when you say dump the exhuast, do you mean something like test pipes to a Y-pipe and then dump the xhuast pointing at the ground?

If you do that, I'd love to hear what it sounds like...and to know how it changes performance.

1. The heat will be damaging to any rubber/plastic components near.

2. It will be RASPY AS HELL.

3. This will actually lower your HP

4. And most of all, this modification to your vehicle = MAJOR RICE
