Default Injen Cold Air Intake

Ok, i currently have the K&N Typoon unit, and had to remove the cover, because it was banging on the hood. Im thinking about getting a new unit and was looking at the Injen. I see that there are to type (see attached pics) I read there is a 1st gen and a 2nd gen. Can someone point out witch it witch? plus does it make any difference have the heat sheild for the header in the one picture?

The heat shield was a good idea but I don't think they really worked that well so I wouldn't worry about it not being included in the 2nd generation version.

We have them in-stock if you are interested.

Thanks,
Gary

Ok kool. I really dont care if it came with th liscense plate frame or not, it would have gone to the trash anyways

As for the heat sheild, that too does not matter to me. Ill just use my heat wrap that i currently using on my K&N tube. Thanks guys, just wanted to make sure i got the right one.

It'll get wet, but a little water doesn't hurt...it's only bad if you get a lot of water b/c you could hydro-lock the engine. Remember that some ppl use water injection (mainly for FI cars) in their intake systems - I just make sure not to spray the hose direclty at the filter.

Ok, im leaning toward getting the Injen. I currently have the K&N tyhpoon and have been noticing the air intake temp +120 when ideling. Here in ca im not really worried about rain as the heat setting in traffic the engine area gets hot. I have some filter wraps that i got for the K&N ill use those to protect the filter and my new bumber is open in the from makes it a little easyer to clean.
