Default Md Plenum Spacer Install = Bulgin Hood

hey sup guys...

cant find info on this.. so here it is.

i installed the MD 5/16 spacer and now the hood wont close correctly. it bulges on the driverside.
did i mess up reinstallin the strutbar?
is there any1 else out there w/ this same issue?

Does the strut bar cause the bulge? You can test with a piece of carbon paper. Put the paper between the bar and hood. Close the hood. Look for black marks on the hood.

The height of the bar is adjustable. Turn the center nut one way and the bar goes up. Turn in the opposite direction and the bar goes down. You can see the bar move by watching the space between the engine cover and bar.

I never had any bulge when installing mine, but i guess it was because i redid the adjustment on the strut bar. That will most likely solve your problem.

My intial problem was that the clearance between the engine and the strut bar was too small...during had acceleration, the engine would torque and rub the strut - I adjusted the strut bar just enough that it wouldn't contact during hard driving...no hood buldge. BTW, I have the older 3/8" version.
