Hey guys, I am trying to figure out the best location to install an H-PIPE on my Injen Super SES dual exhaust. Also what would be the best length in-between the two exhaust pipes for the setup to function properly. Will I loose any previous gains? I have done a lot of research and came to the conclusion than an H or X pipe is necessary to equalize both sides of the exhaust due to the firing order of the VQ. I would rather install an X pipe for better flow and reduced noise like the Stillen kit but due to the design of my exhaust it does not seem easy. I do not know if anyone has done this before, if so your input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I would read up on this article about the advantage of an X over an H pipe, seems the H pipe wouldnt have the same advantages as an X. Would an H be better than nothing at all? maybe to some degree but is it worth cutting up your exhaust for a minimal gain if you cannot put in the best feature (the X-pipe)?
Personally I would try and find a way to put an X pipe in if possible, if not just leave it well enough alone.

I told my local exhaust shop to weld a pipe in the same location as the above pic AKA: New version of the Injen Exhaust and the idiots instead took the easy route and welded a long pipe way in front of that, almost directly after the cats. It deff. eliminated the raspy high note when in high rpm but I think it might be hurting me as far as any gains in HP and TQ where it is now. Any suggestions, should I go back and tell them to do it right?

Effect on horsepower and torque? None. The pipe is too long for exhaust gas to travel from one side to the other. Performance wise I say that the net result is zero.
