Default ???? welding in X-Pipe on my Invidia Dual Exhaust????

I just installed my Invidia G200 true dual exhaust. There is an ugly raspy sound above 3.5k. I dont know if its the exhaust design or a leak where the Invidia mates up to the stock cats.

But What I do know is that I want to get an x-pipe to obtain that stock VQ sound...and Im hoping the x-pipe will get rid of that raspy sound too.

So any input on what xpipe to get? or where to get? I knwo that my exhaust piping is small at 2"

Magnaflow makes very nice stainless x-pipes. Get it from Summit Racing.

The smallest size that magnaflow makes is 2.25. Thats a 1/4" bigger than my 2" Invidia pipes. Do you think that will be substanstial and be able to fill up the gap with weld....or is that not a good way to do it?

yea *** I saw yours in the search before I posted. Thanks for the pix.

BUT MY GOSH!!!! DAMn I got a magnaflow 2.25" x pipe installed and it was like Heaven!! It gave that unique VQ sound back, but I did notice that it made the exhaust overall a tad tad tad bit quieter....but its GREAT!!!! There is still some raspyness but only the first 3 minutes, until the muffler warms back up. After that its all gravy.,.....GREAT MOD FOLKS! GREAT MOD!!! I will post pix in another post once taken

Way too expensive for just a section of pipe. The one I would need is like $290! Magnaflow can be had for $80.

yes, but the quality is much different. The magnaflow is just a basic design. Not manufactured for ideal flow. If you look at how the burns products are welded and the quality fo their collectors then you'd see that it will easily maximize flow through an x-pipe. They use a true merge collectors. This is one thing i've really seen lacking when coming from the honda world. It really doesnt seem like anyone buys really high quality headers or cares about the style of collector on the headers they do buy. It's completely different with honda's, but i guess when you have to get any last HP out of the motor, the best possible flow really counts

Noob question/post *****. Would I realize any performance gains adding an X pipe to my nismo exhaust? I have plenum, headers, pop ch. for breathing mods.

Nismo is not a dual exhaust. It uses a Y-pipe into a single mid-pipe.
