Default Kinetix High Flow Cats Inner Diameter

Hi guys,

I just got my kinetix hfc in, and I wanted to double check inner diameter.

I measured it with calipers, here are the specs:

Both inlet and outlet (Header to cat ID) and (cat to y-pipe ID) are

54mm = 2.125"

Outer diameter = 57mm = 2.24"

The representative from kinetix told me the correct specs, but I wasn't sure whether anyone had confirmed the measurement.

Looking forward to installing these (with new gaskets) and tune!

Just measured stock cats.

Stock cats inner diameter is 2"

The purpose of this information is for people searching in the future. If you don't care, don't bother posting.

Wired and David, how do you two like your Kinetix HFC? I found a pair for a great price, and am wondering if you guys would recommend them.

I like them fine, but I didn't notice any gains until I got tuned.

I know this has nothing to do with kinetix hfc but if you look at the stock cats there is plenty of metal to port the opening and exit out to 2.125. I did it with a pair of stock cats i got really cheap, as well as gutting the secondary cat section. I had test pipes the modified stock cats felt just as nice(but dyno anyway). Don't mean to be off topic but I just figured if someone with spare time and a porting bit got bored he could open up his stock cats to the same size as the kinetix. But the stock cat elements are probably more restrictive. Although reading a lot of wired 24/7's posts he gives a lot of great information. What is the area of the element of the hfc and what is the cell count. Just curious as I have seen universal hfc's with cell counts as low as 100. It would be interesting to know what stock is and what the kinetix is.

I dunno but the cell count of the kinetix is much lower than stock

For all the trouble you went through, I'm not sorry i got the kinetix cats.

Although I am a little pissed they always vibrate against the car when the car is cold, sounds like ****

once the car warms up, sounds great
