Question Test Pipes OR HFC with Vortech in Cali?

Any postitve opinions? Would test pipes be too loud? I am ordering an HKS Dual Exhaust so as the title states what do you think I should do? Thanks guys.

Since your in cali too i would go for hi flows. Im planning to find some hi flow cats to compliment my HKS exhaust, cuz i think test pipes would make it raspy.

You couldn't be more right. I put UR test pipes on with my Hi Power Ti's and it absolutely ruined the sound. So I'm yanking that $h!t off along with my stock headers and going with SFR headers and hi flows. Hopefully it will sound better b/c it sounds terrible now.

For performance, test pipes.

If you are adverse to noise, high-flow catalytic converters.

With FI, test pipes will give you a good what 30-40whp? If I had a vortech setup, and the sound wasn’t unbearable I would go for it.

I have resonated test pipes with HKS and sound doesn't bother me. Less rasp than non resonated.. I would stay far away from non-res. I dunno about gaining 40 whp with testpipes and FI (only popcharger can do that ) but you'll definitely get more gains with tp+fi than hi flows..

Sticking to HFC. Who will weld the extra bung into the cat for the wide ban?
Anyone know where to get the Crawford HFC for a decent price? Just ordered the HKS Exhaust today and I gotta get the HFC on the way.

You planning on getting 1 wideband or 2?

I have had TP, headers and the Injen SES exhaust and the rasp is almost unbearable inside the car. A bunch of people said they really liked it who heard it, but not me. So, I went back to the stock cats. Now, I am going to be installing a set of Xerd TP and a Magnaflow X Pipe muffler(cutting out resonators and adding muffler in its place) this week and I will see how it sounds. I am hoping that the Magnaflow muffler cuts down on the rasp, but who knows.

At first i was interested in the Random tech. ones but since they have issues i might go with crawford. I still need a little more insight on quality, price and sound with others out there.
