Yes, it's a proven fixed! I have headers & test pipes, and this setup fixed these issues. I also regained the VQish's awesome sound but much deeper growl than stock. You will definitely gain some torgue also. I checked around for the best deal on the Magnaflow x-pipe muffler and the best deal is at justmagnaflow.com. And free shipping too! It arrived in three days so great service.

I picked up Zachcrosen's system with the xpipe on the injen, I have a TT setup. For this install I used my kinetix HF cats, and replaced all gaskets.
My impression: 0 rasp. None. System is very quiet, quieter than the NISMO. I will run the system like this until next summer, then I will swap the HF cats for the set of resonated TP's I have, and see what that sounds like. For the first time in months I am not embarrassed to drive my Z, the SVR Tech 2.5 inch custom exhaust with xpipe was TOO loud for me. This system may be too quiet, but I definitely like too quiet over too loud.

I just had this x-pipe installed. It definitely sounds a bit quieter. I'll see how much louder it gets when I get test pipes installed. Hopefully it doesn't get raspy.

Did anyone with the Magnaflow(11385) and the Injen straight tip have any problems with lining it up? The shop told me that the x-pipe in/out was set a bit wider then the exhaust. This caused them to have to cut the little bracket from Injen and add some length to it.

You wont need the bracket anymore with the X-pipe. The muffler braces things the way the bracket does. So adding length to it is a waste of time.

Definitely check out the Fast Intentions Intimidator system. I switched from the Injen Track Edition Ti Tip True Dual to the FI Intimidator and am much, much happier with the FI. Its got getter gains, better noise, doesnt get you pulled over for being too loud, no drone what-so-ever, incredible quality and some of the best customer service to boot. +1 for Fast Intentions!

I know my buddies car sounds nice with the Fast Intentions exhaust. But i still want to see what it sounds like once the cats are removed.

A local exhaust shop and I got around to shooting some ideas on a setup with x-pipe. Check on my post with pics and a vid:

Overall i'm asking the same question how would this sound with test pipes. I actually have no drone with this setup and its quiet at idle, progressively getting louder through the RPM band.

Got UTR resonated test pipes installed tonight. Sounds good, no rasp, hardly any drone, sounds like a loud/deep stockish exhaust.
I'll try to get clips up tomorrow.

Hello,
Just bought a SES too, and thinking about doing this setup.
Sorry if this was answered before, but were there adjustments to be made to the Injen so it fits the Magnaflow X-pipe? Or did the tubes line up perfectly ?
Thanks in advance.

I have the Injen SES and installed the Magnaflow x-pipe muffler. The x-pipe muffler will lineup perfectly if you install it where the two resonators are located. Before you weld the joints, make sure the rest of the exhaust system are aligned correctly and not touching any part of the frame.
