First 3 mods you will do? (Engine Performance)
I want to improve the performance of my 06 Z, If you gone to mod your car performance what are the first 3 mods you will do? Im already put a drop in K&N filter in the OEM box. But i don't know if i go with HFC or Headers as the second mod...

IME pee works better than water as an engine coolant and can easily bump up 5hp from just peeing in your radiator a few times. If you poke holes in your catalytic converters that will also help release some backpressure in your exhaust that robs your engine of hp. I know you want engine mods but also if you fill up your tires with helium it will also reduce your overall weight and also unsprung rotational weight which is always a killer performance mod. Toulene mixed with rubbing alcohol and everclear will make one hell of a gasoline additive. Don't worry about ratios just mix it up and you're good.
Hope that helps.

I wouldn't be too worried about the exhaust, the stock exhaust is pretty efficient as well as the stock airbox. Also from my understanding spacers for our revup motors have very minimal, if any, gains. Don't get me wrong, i love to mod my car and hate to have anything stock but IMO the HP/$ ratio on boltons isn't that great. But if you are just itching to do something to your 06 and not looking/have the budget to go f/i, go with the tried and true first mods: JWT Popcharger, MD spacer(little gains, if any but for sh.its and giggles why not), and a form of test pipe/HFC from either Labree, APS, or Crawford. Sorry for the misspellings and unstructured response but im DEAD tired and have work in the mourning.
Edit: Don't expect to much gains from these mods. Also to elaborate more on the lack of gains from spacers, it is mainly due to the fact that nissan apparently fixed the front 2 cylinder starvation problem on the newer generation VQ's. But the MD spacer does however does seem to lower the plenum temp.

^ you have enlightened me haha
Threadstarter: for an '06 model my 1st 3 mods would be 1st an intake (i got the Injen), mod after that probably a full exhaust system....and well after that i think that all the other mods are a waste of money besides going F/I for an '06, i would think maybe a reflash but with only 2 bolt-ons i don't think it would make much of a difference.
