Apexi PS Revolution - Installed, Reviewed, Video Clip
Picked this up brand new a couple months back. The shop selling it couldn't get rid of it due to its bastard-child appearance (the pipes aren't even the same size! And what's that weird twirly thing in the end of the muffler???!!!) and Japanese documentation. Oddly enough, I was in Japan around the time this exhaust came out in 2004 and picked up a copy of Option2's Exhaust Part's Super Tuning issue. I went home and dug through my old magazines to see if I had actually stumbled across one of these odd exhausts. Low and behold:

Its been on my car for a couple months now and I have to say, I'm pretty happy with the exhaust.
Description:
Apexi USA
Quality - 8/10
Polished mufflers and rear pipes. Polished resonator. Titanium brushed steel mid pipe (same as Apexi World Sport). Welds and Bends are smooth and solid. Unfortunately, the bolts to attach the removable (passenger side) pipe to gain access to the active valve was all SS and two of the bolts jammed/stripped going in. I took all that soft SS crap out, retapped the holes, and secured the pipe with zinc bolts and washers. Problem solved.
Fitment - 9.5/10
Had to remove rear shielding piece on the passenger side. Wrapped exposed hoses in thermo tape to prevent premature cracking. Otherwise, fitment was spot on.
Appearance - 7/10
Not much to look at unless you're under the car. An enthusiast will notice the slightly larger and straight-cut tips, most regular Joes won't even know its aftermarket. To some (including myself), this can be advantageous as I don't want to attract unnecessary attention from thieves or police. Still, would've been nice to see some more of that polished SS from the rear.
Tone - 10/10
It does what it advertises. Mellow, stock dB levels at idle and cruising speeds. Open the throttle and it screams like hell. Great VQ tone, rich and bassy in the lows, howls from 3.5k to redline.

Keep in mind I have Crawford HFC's and JIC Y-pipe, probably going to sound different on a stock Z. Valve spring is set at about 25% pressure (opens under medium exhaust pressure, about 3.5k RPM).
