I was looking at that awhile back; I ended not getting it b/c I heard from others that the butterfly valve would start to have a bad seal over time...I didn't like the idea of having an exhaust leak or having to buy another unit. Over all, it's a great idea. (Reminds me of the lake-side runners old hot-rodders would run...ever see the movie 'American Graffiti'?)

If someone has that sick of a track only car, they would have a nice 3.5" exhaust sticking out the side.

If not, exiting out of the rear is perfectly fine. As long as you have a resonator or two for the noise.

I was just wandering if any Z owners had this installed. I wonder if you can gain any power from this. Like i said i have a buddy who spent about 25 grand on his EVo has the stock exhaust but has this mod. I was just wandering how loud this would be on the Z or the gains you can get with it. If the seal goes bad over time then I dont want it.

A member had done this but on a "G". It sounded pretty good but with just a mild n/a setup, you will drop a considerable amount of torque in the low and mid range, but in terms of people actually dynoing an exhaust cutout, i have yet to see one. Not only that the only other person who i seen with cutouts was a high HP Z on here with a 3.5' exhaust and no real resonators. So other than having a sick turbo setup or actually finding a way N/a to have the exhaust be THAT restrictive than by all means do it, but other than that don't bother. Me myself, i am considering an exhaust cutout as way to lay the ground work for a f/i setup and just for ****s and giggles. Is it a necessity, probably not but is modding any car a necessity? to me it is.

naw its so u can run a mild exhaust on a turbo and switch out to the cutouts and get 1 or 2 more psi as well as more free flowing spool ups.

True, BTW hows that exhaust breaking in? Did you get the solid motor mounts installed?
