Default Skunk 2 intake pleneum problem

Does anyone have this install? I got mine and found that I was unable to re-install my front strut and that my hood now rubs with the top of my intake manifold. It probably doesnt' do much but it is very annoying knowing that it touches...

Is this an issue of just adjusting your hood angle? or do i have to do some heavy modification?

Another thing, does anyone feel this intake pleneum help much??

Thnx.

You won't be able to fit the stock strut over it, I did a Crawford plenum, which isn't even as high as the skunk2 and I still needed a new strut. I've heard a lot of people say that it rubs, some even claim it makes their hood bulge a little bit up. All I can really think of is to find out which struts will work with it, (maybe the crawford or stillen strut bars), and then just try not to let the rubbing bother you.

Thats what you get for not doing more research on your parts man. The S2 adds the most volume to the plenum over any spacer/plenum on the market, did you really think it would fit under the STB or even not rub the hood?

Try taking a few washers and putting them on the hood mount to the latch. It will give you a little more clearance and it may work

I went with the Greddy bar and at first it rubbed a little, I just trimmed the engine cover to fit. I can take some pics this weekend if you need them. It made a wierd vibrating sound at first but thats gone now.

stock strut bar does not work with the skunk2 plenum spacer...

crawford, stillen and APS strut bars work great though!
