Question Kinetix SSV manifold

If any of you guys have a link or a Video or a clip of the Kinetix SSV manifold I would really wanna see or hear a clip of it. And to those that have it installed please answer a few questions....

Does it sound same as stock?

How much horse power will it add? at the wheels?

Is it easy to install?

Can I still use the stock sway bar?

Is it worth 800 bucks?

does it just bolt on?

Does anyone have a used one or wanna sell one???????

Thanx!

Wait for someone to find a way to mod the twin TB idea from the VQ35HR motor...

The fact that I've seen two FI cars with SSV's installed running 9:1 AFR's leads me to believe the design is horribly inefficient.

I wouldn't be as negative as everyone else here... I like the SSV, but you can't think of it as a performance mod. Think of it like a body kit. It does little (if anything) for your performance, but it sure does look nice.

It's a shame the performance is not so great -- I would love to justify that sort of bling under my hood.

A GOOD tune would solve the 9:1 AFR issue. I am in the mid 11's from 3500 to 7000+. Someone is doing a test comparing SSV and plenums. Haven't seen results posted. Might want to wait for them to be posted. I am FI, but here is your pic:

I have one that I just bought off a member of the G35 forum, I ws going to install but now I plan on saving up and going the Stillen supercharger route, this would of-course conflict, I just finished polishing it back up from the previous owner, so if you want I will sell it to you cheap for 500 plus shipping

let me know eother here or hotmail address acoraccio@hotmail.com

Default SSV on a Z

I dont know if what you are speculating is true or not but my car is 413 at 7.9 psi with the SSV and a conservative tune. My friend dicked up my map so I was in the process of retuning it before I left home. It seems to flow great for my FI. How many cars out there are at 413 at under 8 psi? I'm not saying this is my only mod, I have a host of others. There are many people with similar setups but needing 9psi for 413-420ish.

Currently my HP is unknown I bumped the boost to 10 PSI and I lose traction in 3rd when accelerating hard. Not spin em hard per say but definately I feal it kick out a bit.

It depends on your exhaust, if you have a stock exhaust it sounds stock if you have an after market exhaust then no it doesnt. Bottom line any one who says a popcharger or intake makes a verry noticable sound diffrence is a damn liar. Well that my be too harsh, humans have a way of imagining they make a diffrence with the more money they throw at something so it has to have some effect on something or else its a waste of money. So do your UR pullies sound stock any one (besides the squeals)

Yes you can use the stock sway bar all day long, hell you can even use the stock strut tower brace too !

Bolts right up to the intake runners right after you remove the plenum. Other wise its real hard to shut the hood with the SSV on the plenum.

your welcome

Summery: this is one of those mods you just have to either do or not do. people have a hard time justifying spending the money on this thing that looks nothing like the stock plenum and they dont know if there is any gains because of the lack of before and after dynos. You have people with crawfords saying this is crap, people with the SSV saying the crawford is crap, Isothermal spacers saying 5/16 spacer suck, ITS FREAKING INTAKE ANARCHEY!!!! Bottom line its what your willing to dump into the car and be willing to part with the money, sure you can get one that looks good on paper but look at the dynos put out by kenetix on the ssv. Pretty good. Here's a hint, if you planning on going direct port Nitros; this is definately the manifold for you. 6 direct runners in stainless, easy tap and mount and your done (removed from the car of course). Thats something you cant do with the plenum and spacers affordabley.

You can tune over inefficiencies and still make power, just like you can tune to compensate for byproducts of a bad install. Running rich on the same tune after simply changing to a lower volume intake manifold points to one thing - inefficient air flow. I'm not saying the SSV won't make power after a tune, but you can only compensate for an inefficient design so much...

I'm looking forward on the results of that test (if it ever happens).

I will keep searching but I am very interested in this product as I will be supercharging my 3.5 in my 95 maxima and they just started the first group buy for these IM in the Altima forums for FWD application. Does anyone know if there are before and after dyno's of this mod on a FI vehicle?
