I just recently installed the MREV2 in place of the original MREV and yes, there was a noticable difference. The top end pulls harder than before, this is all in addition with the 5/16 spacer.
Smokytyres is right, the Rev Up motor has variable cam timing on the exhaust side meaning the NISMO cams would work on the intake side. NISMO has done this as well on their red 350Z since a while back but there are no dynos at this point. Im personally waiting on the JWT cams where they will have both intake and exhaust cams.

Thx for the info! I'll keep that in mind about the MREV2 + 5/16".
Let me know how the JWT cams work on intake and exhaust. I had assumed Nismo would eventually come out with a set of compatible cams (and maybe then I'd go spec-2 with springs).
BTW I dyno'd the other day with my current setup. It was 100+ deg outside and a horrible day for dyno'ing, but it was more of a meet. Anyway, it was 242whp and 220wtq. Not too impressive for cams and headers, but then again everything is stage 1. I've got no tuning at this point, so there's probably 20-30 unrealized hp in the maps.

Get a tune --- better yet buy a wideband and AFC NEO and run a basic street tune on it
I think a good wide band is a must on modified cars, cheap insurance and an easy way to at least get the fuel right --- youll pick up a few more hp with a real dyno tune but at least youll be much closer IMO
I have done basic A/F tunes with a VAFC and a dyno --- its pretty simple --- adj the cam gears, adding fuel for a nice 13.5 pull across the board and lowering the VTEC cross over and I gained 25whp in the midrage of a 1.8L motor ---- so on a 3.5L motor with cams, headers and possibly MREV2 with a spacer --- I would say even a basic fuel tune would net 20whp or more not even touching the timing maps

Smoky - This is not an apples to apples applicable to your original question, but I have the Nismo cams, Nismo headers and similar exhaust (Fujitsubo, JIC Y-pipe) on my 03 non-Rev Up. Just added the 5/16" plenum spacer and felt a nice incremental benefit at 5,000+ rpms. No drivablity problems. Do recommend going with some kind of high flow cats with your setup - it's one of the real OEM bottlenecks.
Agreed... I'm keeping my eye on the new reinforced Nismo cats, in the hopes that those can withstand the pull of the Nismo y-pipe.
Thx for the info on the spacer. I think I need to just start ordering stuff and putting stuff on. I know the MREV2 and spacer will not negatively impact the driveability. They may not make any more power until I tune tho. But I want to be ready.

Can someone describe how the innovatemotorsports tools help you tune? I realize they provide logs and you make tuning changes based on things like a/f logs, voltage maps, knock logs, etc..
But do these tells guide the tuning at all? Do they make recommendations that help to guide tuning decisions? Or does this gear simply log data and leave it to experts to interpret?
I have a thread going on a similar topic. But since you guys have experience with this tuning solution I'd like to hear your feedback on how it works and what it does for you. I love the idea of being able to maintain my own tune once I get a UTEC.
