i bought my popcharger new from my friend, who had originally ordered it for his g35. you can get the heatshield direct from jwt for like $20. well worth it imo. i placed my hand on both sides of the heatshield while the car was running, and it was amazing how much hot air it actually blocked out from the filter area!
Always consider that hot underhood air can quickly negate any gains from removing restrictions. For every 11F hotter air the density drops 1% and so does the power output.
The combo MAF air temp sensor cannot be fooled easily.
Always a good exercise to measure the restrictions [at torque peak and redline rpm] in front of MAF before spending on any modifications unless sound is the primary reason for such mods.
Search Ebay for Dwyer Manometer series 475 [or a Magnehelic gauge] something that can read 7 or 10 or 14 or 28" [1.0 psi] full scale water column with accuracy.........normally the losses in front of MAF are < 7.0" water column. [~~ 0.25 psi] at 7,000 rpm.
