TurboXS Test Pipe Review
Well to start things off, I screwed up from the get go. I looked at all the
different brands of test pipes out there and found the cheapest brand and
bought them. T-Pros to be exact. I mean how can you screw up building a
pipe that's two foot long and has a few welds on it. Apparently they can,
b/c both sides had cracks on almost every weld and the drivers side
resonator was cracked all the way down the center. So I decided this time
around to go with TurboXS mainly because they already have brackets
welded on them and I'm to lazy to drag out my mig and build some myself.
Installation was a breeze: Unbolt the bracket connected to the cats, 3 bolts
on the exhaust manifold, 2 on the y-pipe, and undo the 02 sensor (unplug
first so you don't twist the wires). It's alot easier to go ahead and screw in
your 02 sensors into the new piping before you bolt it up to the car. Just
install the new tp's in reverse order you took the cats off, plug up the 02
sensors and you're ready to roll. I would also suggest using the non-foulers
trick on any brand of test pipes to prevent from throwing a cel code.
First impression with my new setup.....man this thing sounds bad ***.
I mean any Z/G sounds good WOT at 6000+rpms
, but now its sounds like
it has more authority. The TurboXS tp's are non-resonated so there is a
little rasp but not anymore noticable than the T-Pros which were resonated.
I hate saying you can "feel" a difference but it does pull harder. If there is
anybody that has been wanting to get some tp's for their car I would
recomend these. And take a word of advice from experience, stay away from
T-Pros, I'm still running their Y-Pipe but that will soon change. All in all I'm
very satisfied with the new tp's so far. I will get some vids or sound clips of
the tp's through stock exhaust and then through my new tanabe exhaust.

So you are running TP and Y-Pipe on the OEM exhaust? I have just the APS 2.5" TP w/ OEM exhaust and love it. Considering getting a full exhaust but willing to save the money and just upgrade the Y-Pipe.
