throttle body spacers have been used on american cars for a while now, i would like to test one out on a dyno to see what happens...
its pretty much the same idea as the turbonator, it spins the incoming air, blah blah blah.
one day i will just sit on a dyno for hours testing all this crap

The "spiraling" of some of the TB spacers does nothing.
On a motor with TB injection, the spacer helps with fuel atomization, wheter it has spirals or not. If it's made from resin, it also keeps the TB cooler. On a car with multi-point injection, the only thing the spacer does is increase the volume of the plenum. This is good for top end power because there is more air in the plenum to feed the motor. Again, if it's made from resin, it also keeps the TB cooler. It does nothing for atomization, even if it has spirals. On a VQ motor, a plenum spacer does the same thing, only much better.

I could see how this mod might work (the spacing of the TB, not the twist) on particular TB setups, but without it being tested specifically on the Z, who knows what it could do.
I have seen them in the JCW,

On the 350Z we haven't seen any significant power gains, maybe 1/2 hp or so depending on the car.
The main reason why we made the throttle body spacer was to allow our customers to better plumb their turbo vaccum lines with out having to tapping the factory plenum, which is prone to cracking over time.
Here is a picture:

think of it as adding more volume to the upper plenum... like a plenum spacer but not adding as much...
IMHO - something else to make a buck off of...
If your going to put a spacer anywhere... put it on the Plenum like the Motordyne etc or do a full upper plenum replacement (Crawford / APS etc)...
With the throttle placement on the Z, it does not function like it does on other motors...
