Test pipes + foulers = still a CEL???
#41
I'm with you man. I have the AAM HFC's. Got the non-foulers and I still get a SES light.
I've reset it twice now. I can drive about 1 to 2 days with it off (when I take it to the dealer, ha!) but after that it comes on again.

You have cats and still get the CEL???...
Something's not right. You must have some unusual reason for it.
Put your stock cats in and see what happens with the CEL and report back.

It's possible either the sensor is shot, or the cat is totally FUBAR

I'd like to put my stock cats back in. I asked them to give them back to me, but I was in a hurry and didn't realize until after I got home that they didn't put them in the car...
Maybe I should take it back up there and get them to check it out... (Even though it was months ago)
What's funny is that when I told them I wanted the stock ones back (before I had the hfc's put on), someone laughed and said, "What, you think ours are going to crack or something?"
Ahh, if only I'd payed more attention then...

just installed a set of resonated test pipes on my 03 w/out non fouler and got the CEL. guess i'll give the non fouler a try. reason why i didnt in the first place is because i read up that 03's dont have this problem. anybody w/ 03's using non foulers to cure their CEL?

I threw the code bank 1 and 2 saying that they were sensing too low. I put the non fowlers on just now, had the SES reset. Lets see if it comes back on.
Fingers crossed. I started getting 10mpg and that prompted my to become unlazy really quick. Had the fowlers all the time just was too lazy to put them on when I had spare time.
Stupidity taken care of. Block checked.

UPDATE the last code went away now after about 200 miles or so I have 2 new codes, P1283 (cylinder #3 high to low side open) and P1273 (IPR circut failure) I have been doing just a little reasearch and from what I gather it means that bank 1 and 2 are running lean now. I had it cleared and reset and after about 5 miles the ses light came on. Now I am going to disconnect my battery to reset the ecu to see if that helps. I dont think it will but hey its worth a shot, Not sure what else to do at this point.

I have Invidia 2.25" testpipes with the anti foulers on my '05, installed about a year ago. The anti-foulers worked great up until recently when I started getting the P1283 code. My OBDII scanner says "Manufacturer Contrl. Air Fuel Metering" The code first appeared in the beginning of December, cleared it, came back a few times, then didn't come back for about 2 months. It's starting to do it again, same exact code.
What I wonder is what kind of CEL codes I'm going to get when I get the TN ST kit

No luck for me either..
My CEL comes on within a few days of reseting. I checked with auto zone, and the code is P1273. This code cross references to a few errors, including cylinder #3 high to low side open, AF sensor lean shift detected, and two codes that have to do with the accelerator pedal position sensor. I am inclined to believe that the problem is "AF sensor lean shift detected", but I dont know what that means. I am running test pipes with the non-foulers. Anybody know what I should do? help.

Get your car up on a dyno with air/fuel sniffer. You might be running lean and you probably need tuning / reflash if you haven't done it already.

I've got the test pipes installed about 2 weeks ago and everything ran fine until today, I got the SES light. I see that some people get the CEL and some get the SES light, I'm assuming that the CEL is a bigger issue than SES. I did change the oil, trany fluid and diff. fluid last week, so I don't think I'd need much more servicing at 33K miles. I've been doing the LED clear corner mod the past couple of days and unplugged the battery couple of times recently, maybe that's what's causing the SES light to come on?

lol ses, cel same thing... DId you even checked the code? go to autozone and find out what it is... if its the one related to the testpipes then clear cel codes and see if it comes back on...

I helped a friend install testpipes in his 06 a while back and he had NO issues with any type of codes... non-fouler fix was installed

Did any of you try drilling out the smaller hole to make it a bit larger? To me the code seems to say that the car thinks there is not enough emissions, as opposed to too much that would be seen with no non-foulers. It seems like the is a specific range that the car is expecting the emissions to be in and the non-foulers are putting the cars under this range...maybe making the hole larger would help this.
I'm just guessing though.
