Default MREV2 vs warranty

Hi. I have an 06 ZR and am considering the MREV2. I want to know if this voids any or all of my factory warranty with this sort of mod? One other thing I would like to know. I already have the Nismo CAI. Will definately be going with the Nismo exaust and am currently considering the MREV2 w/ 5/16 spacer. After all 3 of these mods will I need a tune? Forgot to mention I have a rev-up. Thanks.

from what i heard from other people the answer is no need for a tune b/c the ecu will compensate, but a tune will help. as far as voiding the warranty i would say only if they can put the parts at fault for the damage but you know how dealers are.

Maybe. Not because of the mod, but because of poor installation. A modified lower plenum is not a major mod, and should not effect engine reliability. What may cause problems is a poor installation: say improper torque and a resulting vacuum leak.

In this case, I doubt that you would ask the dealer to fix it in the first place.

True but some dealers can be real dicks.

So can your lawyers, when you sue the dealership in federal court for not upholding the warranty, as well as tacking on your legal fees.

A mere letter from a lawyer should do the trick...

you pay to play. if you mod you shouldn't care about a warranty.

Oh goodie, so after spending $$$ on lawyers and countless months suing, they may decide to spend another few months examining your car to determine that the item in question didn't cause your problems so you still have a warranty.

That will never happen. After the threat from legal action, they will do the service under warranty.

This is one case where the law is luckily on the consumer's side, not the business owner.

I sure wouldn't want a place to work on my car just because there's legal action pending over them.....me thinks a few bolts may go missing

All the more reason to service the car yourself.
