Are you just going to take people's word for it?
werd + this is the second most commonly asked about topic (#1 being "omg what intake should I get!!11"). Do a search.

HKS all the way. Nismo to me is too stock looking. If you plan to change out the exhaust, why not go with something thats noticeable? I think its a waste of money if you go with Nismo. Looks way too stock for my taste.

I am going HKS because I want something that will set my Z apart from the local crowd ... Nismo sounds great from what I have heard, but the stock look is not my thing.

On the performance side, I have read that the HKS has better gains overall.

But go with what you like! Yor are the one that will have to live with it on the car!

Best Regards,
Carlos Ch.

hks will not set you apart from the rest of the Z crowd, going amuse Ti or ARC will set you away.

Bold statement for someone that does not know where I live... I know my local crowd better than you, my friend

There is no real difference in performance between exhauts, just pick the one that sounds the best to you.

except some exhaust save more weight than the other...
and less weight = more power
9.5lb JIC Ti + 10-15lb Y-pipe or 60lb Nismo thats 50lb difference...
40lb = approx. 4-5hp freed from shedding weight...
if exhaust all performed the same ( offered same flow capabilities) then JIC naturally has a 4-5hp edge because of weight saved...

Guys,
I might combine it with Crowford cats .Since it was illegal to use test pipe, here in Australia. Anyone use HKS + crowford cats + headers combination before?or something similar?

cheers,
Jerry

personally i love my HKS exhaust, but do a search. The mid pipe hanger fails. Some people have the hanger welded on, but I told them that voided there 4 year warranty. You may want to consider the fujisubo exhaust. You will also need to get the Y pipe too.

That sounds like a winning combination. Then you just need a plenum spacer and a tune, and you will have a pretty quick N/A Z. Not going to be cheap, though...

its illegal to use testpipes anywhere there is a government body...
its just some gov't have lax emission standards who just do not care
and some local gov't have very strict emissions standards and who is very aggressive on enforcing such standards onto the population
