HKS all the way man!! You won't regret it. Looks good, sounds good and weighs significantly less than stock.

Here is a sound clip:

9.5lb JIC Ti + 10-15lb Y-pipe or 60lb Nismo thats 50lb difference...

if exhaust all performed the same ( offered same flow capabilities) then JIC naturally has a 4-5hp edge because of weight saved...

A good point but something that most that browse this section probably dont worry about. It is why I have a titanium tanabe single (~15lbs)

If your main concern is sound, then HKS is probably your best bet. Its probably the best sounding exhaust that is even remotely affordable. (Amuse sounds the best).

+1 for Nismo. If cops are an sticklers in your area, I'd go with Nismo for it's clean stealth looks and incredible sound. If I didn't have mine I'd go with a lightwieght TI exhaust...

Those 3 clips of the HKS exhaust are recorded in such craptastic quality that I can probably make a better sound impersonation with my mouth. Very unfair to compare it to the Nismo clip you provided, which is recorded in 300x better quality. The HKS exhaust sounds amazing, and is nothing like that in person.

As a representative of Team Po' Folk, I have to throw my two pennies in. The TPF axel back system will get you the most bang for your buck. Boo Yeah! I'll shut up now, flame away. LOL.

Do any of you guys know if the HKS is legal as far as noise level goes? I know in CA, you cannot have an exhaust that makes over 95 db in noise, or something to that nature. I would assume the Nismo would be under that level...

About the same when both are just the ex. by it self. Nismo is a tad bit louder. But once you add HFCs/TP's the HKS CANT compare to the sound of the Nismo.

Thats only when its just the exhaust by itself. Both are quieter than 95dB. I have Nismo with Crawford HFC's and a pop charger though...

+1 Nismo!!
I have headers, cats, y-pipe, and Nismo exhaust. I always get compliments on how exotic it sounds, kind of ferrari-ish. Love the exhaust tone, but it gets a little loud on the freeway at regular speeds. Sounds awesome when you're driving with a little adrenaline.
