It is very loud! People along the road will stop and look above 4000 rpm. My major concern after I installed it is not really the need for a bypass but the fact that I can see the filter by looking into the vent on the inside of the whell well.

The sound (roar) doesn't kick in until 4000 rpm's. I don't have a comparison for the sound with or without the bypass valve. I can't imagine it taking away from the system. I ordered the kit from JE Import Performance, the same Co. that installed it.

My check engine light came on today Tomorrow I'm going to disconnect the battery for 10 mins. then reconnect it and see if that turns the light off. Well see what happens. It came on right after I filled the gas tank up so hopefully its because I didn't tighten the cap enough.

I did mine with the brace still on the car without any problems.

UPDATE: Check engine light was off the next day. No resetting needed. Must have been the gas cap.

My installer had the next size up so he tried that one and it was to big on one side. In the picture of the Valve there is a blue piece of tubing sticking out just a bit. That is a little piece of hosing from a turbo which made it fit perfectly. Perhaps there is an inbetween size that doesn't require any creative thinking?
I just got my pre-cut AEM intake. Will install tomorrow/weekend. Does it make a difference between if the pipe is cut Vs. the pipe is not cut and the bypass is attached like in the pictures?
Also, when I compare the valve in the picture, to the valve sitting in the box, it seems that the valve in the picture is stretched out a little. Am I seeing wrong, or is it really stretched out? Is there a difference? Other than the density of the foam is reduced, therefore water may be abale to sneak in?
