Default JWT PopCharger Filter Cleaner

For the guys with pop chargers, what cleaner and oil do you use on your filter. I don't want to use the k&n cleaner because it has a red tint. I found this cleaner but is it a cleaner or oil gaze?

You should go with the K&N filter cleaner kit. It comes with the cleaner and red air filter oil. And can be purchaed at most autoparts stores. As the link you attached is just the blue air filter oil.

Just a color difference. Like folks said above, the K&N has a cleaner, JWT does not!

From the K&N FAQ:

20. How do I know when to clean the filter?

The general rule of thumb is that the filter needs to be cleaned when the dirt build up gets as thick as the wire mesh. The usual interval is 30,000 - 50,000 miles depending on driving conditions. We recommend that you check your filter about once a year in normal usage.

Simple green works nice to degrease. Also, any dishwasher. I let it soak in soapy water for an hour and then hose it out, let it dry and then oil it and let it dry again. Once i didnt let it dry and when installing my plenum, i noticed a ton of oil inside the plenum. Also, when i let the intake sit on the floor, there was a pool of oil on the floor from all the oil finally coming out.

I normally clean and re-oil mine at night, that way it sits on my garage bench over night.

The key is not to over-oil it. Too many people saturate the filter, and all that excess oil flying into your plenum will mess up your MAS
