Default Weird POPcharger sound. Pics and Vid inside

Hi guys... yes another popcharger thread. But... i've actually done some research.

So I just installed my popcharger yesterday and I'm getting this strange chirp at initial throttle from a stop. I'm actually not sure if the sound is normal or not because I couldn't hear it from any vids, but it sounds like a hiccup when I get on the throttle. However, it only happens if I depress the throttle quickly from a stop. Doing normal street driving I can't hear it because i'm not aggressive with the initial throttle input.

Some things I've read are to line up the tubing properly? I double checked and couldn't find any arrows or whatnot telling me where to line it up. This is a noob question but the cone filter can go on in any orientation correct? Anyways, thanks for reading and for any input

oh wow really? I knew the sound was air rushing it but it sounds like it's restricted somehow and thats why the hiccup is there. Everyone talks about the whoosh and whistle of a Popcharger and well... it didn't seem like this sound was a woosh or whistle. But thanks for the reply, very helpful.

its the sound of air rushing by the throttle body. you didnt hear it before cause the filter blocked most of the sounds

yup that is very normal. every intake system you get for a car and you blip the throttle like that, it will make that kind of sound.

I hear this and I have a Injen CAI. I always thought it sounded like a little turbo though.... Hehe.

Just this morning when I was letting it warm up before I took my Z out I was sitting there blippin the throttle like that, and was listening to it. That's just a little habbit for me to blip the throttle though.

^ Lol... except turbos make that noise when you get off the gas... not blip it =P

Thanks a lot everyone for the replies, glad to hear that this isn't something totally out of the ordinary. I was just mainly worried about a restriction causing that noise. Props to everyone who replied.

I just installed the popcharger and it's making that similiar noise. But instead of hearing the noise at during initial throttle, I keep on hearing it constantly? Also, I could feel a rattle that goes with the noise. It feels almost like someone is knocking on your door. You could hear it and you could feel the rattle/noise. Is it normal?!

OMFG - take that off immediately, it's sucking in too much air and will ruin your throttle body!!!

JK - sounds very normal - enjoy that POP Charger! LOL

Hmm.. actually I think I do have a problem now. After some research. Everyone is getting a high pitched whistle noise. I'm getting this tapping noise. It happens even when the Z is going very slow. But the frequency is lower when the car is slower and goes faster as the car is going faster. I'm suspecting that the popcharger might be hidding on the heatshield as it rattles. I will try to take out the heatshield and do a test run and see if the rattle goes away.
