K&N Air Filter
For those of you who have a K&N Filter installed, I have a dumb question: Where did you place the two rubber bars (gaskets) supplied with the filter. I know one goes on top and the other on the bottom, but the instructions aren't clear on exact positioning on the cartridge itself. I can't tell where to orient them - near the rear of the cartridge (on top of the "ribbed" area), pushing up under the filter element; or closer to the front of the cartridge, butting up against the filter element, but not under. Or - somewhere else all together. Stupid question, I know - but help please!
I put them in parallel with the filter case.
In other words... if you were to hold the filter parallel to the ground.... at a height of X (let's say 5.00 feet). Then both of the black sticky things would ALSO be at exactly 5.00 feet from the ground, on the same "plane".
One would go beneath the top edge, one right above the bottom edge, but not on a different height from the case itself. Sorta like if you think of a license plate holder.... you'd put the 2 things on the INSIDE against the bottom edge, and on the INSIDE right against the top edge, so that they face each other.
