Default Advice on Spacer and Mrev2

Hi guys!!!

Well i know a lot has been said about the 5/16" ISO spacer and the Mrev2 on the 287hp/6600 redline car, just wanted to consult a last time what you guys recommend best for my Z, looking to get nice hp increase, can i use both or is it better to use the mrev2 alone???, thanks for the advice!!!

If you have a newer Z, you need the mrev and the spacer is always an improvement beyond that. I would do both. Search around here. That combo has been tested both ways alot and these kids have alot of good experiences to share. You just gotta search for it a bit.

WAIT!!!!!

I just noticed you have the 287...
That mrev is meant only for the 300 to cure problems with that plenum that yours doesn't have.
You just need the spacer

Formula as follows:

287hp = 5/16 spacer only
300hp = 5/16 spacer + mrev2

And yes, the stock strut bar will fit!

Your right, i read that too... this **** makes no sense. I really want to know, because I am going in for an install this weekend for the fast intentions exhaust system and test pipes, and at the same time want them to put in the spacer. I have a 06 grand touring automatic which is the 287hp, some people say mrev2 only, some say spacer only and some say both installed are the best. I can not seem to get a consistent answer. Performance Nissan ( which does a lot of performance installs of all kinds) the manager told me only to get a spacer.

take it for what its worth.

Seriously.

I had to take a break from the forums for the last week or so because I was sick and tired of seeing REPTITIVE questions like this.

Search people, it's been covered DOZENS of times...

Save our time from reading your post, plus if its so repetitive why not show us what you know? Its not been clearly covered once. And maybe another break is in need...

lol

I've given my input on the MREV2 + spacer in several threads, and currently have both on my car. If you want to know what I think, hit the search button.

I've NEVER been a "search ****", but the recent crop of n00bs seems so clueless that it's hard to NOT get frustrated seeing the EXACT same threads pop up every day.

OK, like said in may threads before this one, buy the 5/16 spacer only for the 287 engine an receive the most bang for your buck, the rev-up engine benefits from the MREV, where as 1-3 hp is gained on the 287, which is a little overpriced horsepower.

thank you that is all it took, a little clearing up, because the search button really pulled in a few different results. But this was clear and simple.

People are reluctant to search because there is so much info, redundant info, misleading info, conflicting info. All of which can be reduced if not eliminated with a well authored FYI.

Thank you! After reading for hours I felt cross eyed. Clear and simple summation.

Since searching does not seem to be in vogue, has anyone thought of asking the vendor about applicability and test results? I know MD has been straight up ever since day one.

If I'm reading this correctly, 287hp motors can benefit from the MREV2 also.

This is true.

The peak gains arent quite as high as a spacer, but area under the curve is slightly higher.
