Default Does anyone have this "basic" same setup?

Crawford Headers>UTR Resonated Test Pipes>JIC Y-Pipe>AAM Single 3 inch Exhaust

I am well aware that the Test Pipes will make the car very loud, but will this setup make the Z basically sound like an unbelievably loud POS?

Does anyone that has aftermarket headers/test pipes/ a single 3 inch exhaust have any personal feedback in any way for me?

The odds against anyone have that exact set-up is 1,000 to 1.

Consider that the sound of any exhaust system is primarily the result of the resonators and mufflers. They are the noise attenuators. Nothing else.

Begin with a 85db cat-back exhaust like the Injen Super SES , adding headers increases exhaust flow. More flow means more noise so bump the noise level to 86db. The same with test pipes. Increase exhaust flow and increases noise level another db for 87db. The signature Injen Super SES sound is there only more loud.

On the other hand look at the comparatively quiet 82db NISMO catback. Add headers and test pipes for performance, and the noise level increases to 84db. Still, the NISMO sounds like a NISMO.

No one can tell you what is quiet, loud and extremely loud. Listen before buying.

Correct. One of the reasons I wanted someone with the setup of basically aftermarket headers/test pipes/ and a 3 inch single exhaust was to possibly see if they had any clips or videos or feedback on how loud it is. Ill clear that up in the original post.

It's interesting you mention this davidv, I'm considering installing Intense Power resonated test pipes and Im concerned about the sound, I know there will be some rasp, (although I dont want to sound like a ricey honda or anything) I just dont want my car overwhelming loud (I know this is relative).... Ive heard others mention NISMO exhaust with test pipes is EXTREMEly loud, and you mention this. 84db is fine for me though... hmmm what to believe...

just saw this post...if you're still looking for sound clips, I posted some a few weeks ago. I'm also waiting for the snow to clear so that I can do a few more vids w/ the silencer on.

exhuast mods; Strup headers, AAM TP to Y-pipe to 3" single

The noise levels that I mentioned are for comparison purposes. The test results can be found in the early Sport Z magazine exhaust shoot-out.

I'm working on it, and decided that with my setup of Crawford Headers, UTR resonated test pipes etc..that the AAM single exit exhaust would be way to loud for my tastes, especially since first350 posted up his videos and such with the AAM single exit..ive also got some other issues that im working on so don't expect anything till about may. alot of stuff has come up that im trying to figure out so yea, youll hear back from me in a few months

Just wanted to let you know that, the crawford headers are going to be a pain in the A$$ to install. As I just got my car back with them installed and it took Z cargarage 13 hours to install them. And they had to remove the motor mounts and jack the engine up to install them. They are a very tight fit in the 350Z. But, well worth it.

I don’t even want to ask what 13 hours labor costs.

That install sounds pretty standard (by the book), hope they work out for you ...

Forgot to mention they also had to add some heatshielding material so I don't go into flames lol. As the fuel lines where pretty close to the headers.

It is going to be close to that. Forgot, that I was also charged for my 3.12 Vortech pulley install and tune. If you want an exact figure for just the headers from Z cargarage I would just call Rob.
