While the crash looked pretty dumb - I thought it was something to do with thier brakes system...either they dis-connected their ABS, or expereinced ICE-mode on the brakes. (since getting aftermarket tires, I've expereince ICE-mode while autoXing...it's a bit scary how much braking power you loose from it)

I think the reason it broke is the weld was not strong enough to support the test pipes hanging off of it. Im just going to reweld it because i need to buy a haltch interceptor to tune the car. its running so rich its getting like 14mpg on the highway.

my cheap us$89 headers i bought off ebay are still holding strong. it survived my track day so it must be ok with the heat.. the headers turned into blue-ish colour :P

its purely just a matter of luck i guess.. some got cracked headers with other brands too. i dont think cheap headers will crack unless its holding too much weight (hanging the entire exhaust on the header without proper brackets and etc) or bottom the car hard etc etc..

and i believe many of those 'named' headers are made in china anyway

picture in the first post on page one now.

I read about the haltech interceptor on some other forums its apparently really easy to tune if you have a wideband, one of my friends has one that i can borrow. A shop here has a dyno that i can use for like 60$ an hour.

I remember seeing a video of their 350Z "drift car." The driver clutch kicked it and turned the wheels to try and get the car going left and sliding right-side forward. No dice. That thing stayed straight with the wheels turned and slammed into a tree. After that, I knew that I'd never EVER buy anything that they made.

Actually, I just found that vid... I'm not sure he even tried a clutch kick. I think the driver just sucked. But still... doesn't impress me much. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9CpujJDW9nY

I took the header to a welder i know, he said he has seen name brand headers crack like that. Im getting it reinforced and also going to make some brackets for it tonight to take the weight off of the exhaust, as i think the welds are decent but they cant support the weight of the test pipes and the y pipe.
