Default 02 simulator, no cats?

I just got my z last week, I want to put on an exhaust but looking at the minimal gains you get from these systems I would figure that the problem is with the stock cats themselves. What I was wondering is if any of the 02 simulators out there that guys with domestics use would work on our cars. What I basically want to do is get rid of the cats completely, but I dont want to throw a CEL. So for any of you guys that have done this or know if it is possible lets hear it.

We have used them on several different OBDII cars and they work great. We have yet to try one on the 350Z but I don't see why it would not work.
