Default Any news on the "dual intake" set-ups?

I know that Crawford Z was trying to make one work. Anyone out there working on a set-uo like the one for the new VQ35HR series?

I can invision how the plenum would look....

There would have to be some stand alone to help with the increase in air into the motor to handle the lean #'s.

*edit*I know Cosworth was also working on one...$$$$$

I have not seen or heard anything yet.

I guess Cosworth will be the first we will see.

The cosworth piece is gonna be really really pricey. I'm not even sure its worth it because your paying over 1k dollars for a piece that won't add that much power. I would just save up for f/i.

The Cosworth piece will not be that expensive for what you get, they are trying to keep it around $1000.00 for a complete manifold not just an upper plenum or a $300.00 metal shim! It comes with complete R&D from one of the most reputable shops in the world, not some local mom and pop metal shop/garage/tuner?installer/designer wanna be . (no insults intended here just explaining the difference between a world class organization and thet backyard builders/fabrictors) .
Its like trying to compare the Meagan coilovers with JIC Magic or HKS.
By the way I own the APS tall boy plenum and love it but will be selling that when the Cosworth comes out!

http://www.jdm-option.com/eng/featur...2/z33_v35.html

after looking at this the winner car has:
"The stock intake manifold' s capacity was increased by installing Esprit's intake spacer."
the Nismo car (2nd) has a stock aniversary edition manifold
the amuse car(3rd) has:Zenki Stock Intake Manifold which is basically a plenum with an added spacer onto it...

AND THE CAR with the dual intakes finished 12th?? not not saying its just related to it..there is much more to it..but people fail to realize that the winner car did not need this dual intakes to make it faster or more power there, may have to wait for development on the new vq to really see the improvements from it and if it can be addapted to the other vqs but its all long ways away... it surprises me how people just jump on things with out even looking or by just looking at the engine bay and seeing something shinny (which is how the ssv pos gained sales)

Um japense spec ecu is the same as the US one thats why the techtom stuff works on it. You can buy the software technosquare and others use for like 3000$ if you really wanted to modify your own ecu.

interesting...they made it a dual intake, and compensated for the MAF (which would read 50% of the air coming in) by increasing the fuel injectors. They said it had just been finished...wonder how much HP they'd be able to get with a proper tune.

*How much can a reflash/Utec adjust MAF/Fuel maps? Would it be able to properly adjust for dual intakes and OR injectors?

Me too

But check out the FD on the Central20 car

while the 4.3 final gear ratio firmly keeps the powerband in check.

Big difference over the 3.9.

Good stuff one that read.
