If the dual intake makes significant power, do you think that we would be able to swap out our pleniums for the dual intakes. I am curious to see what the aftermarket does with this. Dual popchargers would be sweet. They would also look awsome in the engine bay.
anyone?
anyone?
You mean swap plenum and intake from a 2007 Z onto a 2003?
It's not going to be worth it. You heard it here first.
There is quite a bit of crap in the way, not the least of which is the power steering fluid resevoir...
Also, the VQ35HR plenum is most likely designed to make peak torque higher than even the rev-up motor. You will probably suffer if you put it on your non-revup.

For a 6hp total increase over the 2006, why would you even bother when they used that and other things such as new exhaust manifolds, ecu tuning, compression. Its not even worth it just to say you have dual intakes. If your worried about it go to a standalone and a giant throttle body.

For example, the BMW 335i which is measured at 300hp, is dynoing high 270's, low 280's whp bone stock (dyno jet)
I could be wrong about this.
SAE did come out with a new standard. Not all companies are using it yet. There is no telling if nissan is or not. Here is some information on it. http://www.detnews.com/2005/autosins...A01-283759.htm
Most cars are putting out lower numbers with it though.

I thought they would have released it by now. They apparently have already built prototypes and tested the gains.
I'm wondering if they are holding off on prodution to make a design compatible with the new engine. ...But the HR will require a 2nd design anyways?
I can't figure out what the hold up is.

Yeah, there were a bunch of Honda Civic guys pissed about this. LOL
"OMG, it's supposed to have 200, but now it's only 197!!"

Like a Civic would really get 200 crank hp stock.

To the OP, considering the new VQ35HR is 80% from the 2006 motor, I don't think its as simple as a straight swap.
