Default greddy evo 2 exhaust rattles sooooo much

so one of the main reasons i bought this exhaust is because i kept reading about how the HKS rattles soo much, plus i didn't want a super loud exhaust. I assumed since no one complained about the exhaust rattling that this wasn't a problem. However every time i go over a little bump or a messed up road i hear the exhaust rattle near the area where the resonators are. So is this due to a bad install because the guy took forever doing it or is this just a problem everyone has with this exhaust. I looked under the car and the exhaust seemed to be mounted firmly so i don't think it has to do with install, plus how could you mess that up???? What do you guys think?Any way i can fix it?

I get a very very slight rattle somewhere in the exhaust when i reverse sometimes. Not often but it happens. I think you're gona have to take it back to the guy to get it adjusted or just jack it up and crawl under yourself.

i dont have this exhaust but when i installed my exhaust (apexi WS2) i had a slight rattle when i take off out of first and when i would slow down. i got under my car and i double checked to make sure all my bolts were tight and i found a loose bolt. so i tightend it and no more rattle. you could try that.

everything under there is extremely tight. I never got a rattle or vibration until I ditched the cats for test pipes. The mm difference made it rub/rattle. If you can get the car on a lift you can adjust/mod the brace under the car where it rubs, then you will fix the problem. This is not exhaust specific....but car specific. Only time mine rubs now is when I hit a huge bump or the elevations on the highway changes drasticly. I have the EVOII

Mine started to rattle after I installed test pipes. It was rattling on the mid frame bracing. I just wrapped it up with a little bit of heat wrap and it's been fine for more than a year now. About three rounds of wrap back and fourth would sum it up.

Not in my situation. I did all that. It was really laying on bracing. No adjusting in the world would allow for it to straighten up. You got to stop a think that not ever case is just like yours. Ever exhaust, car, and motor might be different. I'm not lashing out at you, so no need to fire back.

I have no rattle at all with my evo2. Also double check the EVAP relocation and make sure every was firmly installed.

+1 Adjusting the mid section will cure the problem.

Heres a tip. Loosen the bolts for the mid section. Put a piece of rubber under the exhaust and on top of the brack underneath it. Make sure the clearances are okay on all sides and tighten up the bolts. When the bolts are tight, take the rubber piece out.

This should take care of the problem. Good luck and enjoy.

I had my exhaust installed as a true duel. The rattle that I have been hearing sounds like it is comming from where the tubes run under the drive shaft and through the center brace. I am going to get under the car this weekend and either adjust the pipes up some or do the rubber beteween the brace and pipes..

put 4 spacers in between the center brace and the car and your rattles will be no more.

so i went to the shop that installed the exhaust and the reason the exhaust made soo much of a rattling noise was because one of the resonators was significantly lower than the other one and it hit the V shaped structural brace. do they raised it and notched out a little piece of the V shaped brace. so far so good, no rattling noise
