I remember reading good reviews of XERD test pipes, although I can't vouch for them myself.

I highly reccomend UT-R Resonated Test Pipes. They are exactly what you are looking for. Loud but not Raspy, sounds awesome, or atleast thats what everyone says. The sound has often been compared to that of a Ferrari. I just think they sound incredible. They are extremely durable and the welds are a work of art. They sell quite inexpensivly, considering the quality. Power gains are very noticeable. Going from OEM Cats to HF cats was a noticeable difference but going from the HF cats to UT-R pipes was like going from OEM to HF. Definately the most seat of your pants gains out of all the other mods I have done. Only thing is that I reccomend you have the hangar arms removed before install, if they still make them with the hangar arms....you wont need them and they will only be useful for picking up plastic bags on the freeway or getting caught and ripping off leaving a thumb sized whole in your pipe, just have them cutoff BEFORE install.

You can get them at www.mynismo.com

Its funny, when I had my 4th set of cracked crawfords removed I told them I want somthing different that wont crack in a week or 2 and they presented me with the UT-Rs and I said, "wow, these welds are a work of art", I just noticed that they actually have that in the sales pitch...lol...I wonder anyway, its true, from 11/05-05/06, I went through 4 sets of Crawford HFs and they all cracked in the same spot. I have had UT-R since 05/06 and never had a problem. Enjoy

I can vouch for UTR test pipes as well. I have the dual HKS hi pwr exhaust and UTR test pipes and they are very nice. Sound incredable and they look solid. Have not had one problem ... little rasp. I got mine from Andy @ mynismo.com

You're entitled to your opinion, but IMO the VQ almost always sounds like a VQ to me, and never anything like a Ferrari

Ok, turn up your volume and proceed to the following link. Select the first video Titled Preview. The following video was taken in January. I am the Chrome Silver Z in front of the camera car. You can hear me when we start to move and then you hear a combination of My Z and the White roadster(no muffler at all) as we round the corner through the light and take off. You can hear me periodically as we all head straight down the road but I end up a few cars ahead of camera guy. At the end of the video just before the camera car takes a right turn along with everyone else, you can see me making the turn 3 cars ahead of him and then you can hear me take off.

http://www.socalspeedzone.com/pages/...107/index.html

The next Video was from 10/05 and was before Test Pipes, Headers and plenum spacer. At this time it was Pop Charger, NISMO exhaust and Crawford High Flow Cats. Again, thats me in front of the Camera car. First you hear my exhaust, then you hear his Turbos........forget about those silly turbos and just listen to my exhaust

Neither video does justice to the true sound but you shoud get the idea. Also the Video that is with test pipes also had a crack in my NISMO mid pipe just before the muffler. Just enough to produce a little rasp that went away when I replaced the pipe. Sounds much better now, little deeper, little more throaty, but I dont have any vid since the repair...sorry.
