Question APS 3.5" downpipe question

finally went home to install my APS DP.. when i opened the box, I found a huge dent in one of the pipes (passenger side), near the flange. funny thing is that it almost looks like it came from the factory like that, as it had no scratches on the area or any visual indication of the damange.. when I was taking out my other 3.5" downpipe, I didn't notice any clearance issues or anything like that.. this isn't normal, right? These are new from a vendor, not a used one. packaging was perfectly normal, when I received it.. feeback appreciated.

That dent should not be there. The pipe is damaged and should be replaced

man, this is discouraging i'll test fit this and see.. funny thing is that I had clearance issue on the driver side with my other 3.5 testpipes, and had to unbolt a suspension component for access. maybe this is jdm spec? hah.. will test fit/align them this weekend. more feedback from owners appreciated, as well.

I just got an email directly from APS and it seems the dent is intentional, meant for right hand drive vehicles... so JDM, yo. here's the letter.

"Hi,

APS is a worldwide supplier.

This means our product MUST be able to fit both LHD AND RHD drive vehicles. (Not just LHD for the USA).

The deliberately positioned indent to which you refer is for steering shaft clearance on a RHD vehicle,

Regards,
David"

I installed a set 2 days ago. Didn't have that huge *** dent. Send it back. There are dents near the flange so you can put the nuts on but nothing like that.

Ask APS to show you a pic of there "updated" test pipes. I think they're lying out of their teeth. Mine didn't have a huge dent like that either.

That does not even look like an APs downpipe..Last time I looked at mine, they were 1 solid piece from turbo flange to Exhaust flange, there was no "welded on" section like in your picture..They must have redesigned them..
