Question Somebody Help Out A Morron

I'm new to the mods and trying to figure out the difference between a POP Charger and Cold Air Intake? Are they the same thing? Or does one do something the other doesn't? Help me out here....

at least you know it's a basic question:

pop charger: it basically changes the OE filter and houseing w/ a cone type filter (the filter stays in the same general position); the pop charger is a specific type of filter, Altered Atmosphere Motorsports also makes a similar type of filter (it's a bit larger than the pop charger).

CAI (cold air intake): similar to the pop charger, but move the cone filter to either in front of the radiator (between radiator and front of bumper) or to the front driver side wheel-well.

Default Thanks but.....

So from reading some of the other posts...Pop Charger gives free air flow with a deeper better sound....Cold Air Intake also gives free air flow but with it being cold air it supossed to increase HP, does it also give the better sound?

If your looking for- - - spine tingling, set you back in the seat HP gains, forget it. Bottom line is, get one that you like the looks of. A small amount of performance gains, but nice cosmetics. Its your call.

BTW, I ran a Typhoon at one time and liked the looks but modded the CAI. Also, the tubes take a Powder Coat well, so u can do the color thing if you want

I'm surprised this guy didn't get flamed worse than he did...I've heard a lot of people complain that the CAI kinda sucks bc of the long tubing...i think I remember people complaining about a lag in throttle response or soemthing???

Both intakes give good sound I'm sure...I had a CAI on my Sentra Spec-V and it sounded AWESOME, but the JWT popcharger sounds good too. I wonder if one of those new AEM dry filters would fit with the pop charger? They are supposed to be pretty sweet and don't bend like the normal older cone filters do.
