Default Spacer help Please?

Hey you guys, I am wondering if there is a difference between the MD 5/16 spacer or the AAM Spacer? I have searched and read alot! Both seem like terrific products but I was wondering if there is any downside or problems with these? Thanks for any help.

Yes there is a difference. And the difference can be found in the Sport-Z magazine Plenum vs Plenum Spacer ShootOut.

One is made by Motordyne. One is made by AAM. One is angled, one is not.

What's the question? You may have searched and read a lot, but you have not searched and read a lot about spacers.

they're fairly similar; both good companies to work with, both well established w/in the Z community, and both provide real HP gains.

AAM: angled, w/ more thickness up front...this is where the extra volume is needed, allows strut bar clearance.

MD: comes in 5/16" or 1/2" ... the 1/2" doesn't allow strut bar clearance.

I read that the AAM spacer is prone to leaking around the top bolts. Is the MD spacer not subject to this? The MD 5/16 (according to the shootout) outperforms the AAM?Am I reading that correct

If i were to buy one, i'd buy the MD 5/16". The MD has the gasket material bonded to both sides, which should help prevent leaks.

Thank you that was exactly what I wanted to know. I was wondering why the MD spacer was suposedly less prone to leaking.
