Default Crawford plenum install/help/question

I installed the plenum, but after my new long block due to oil consumption the dealer refused to install the plenum, which is fine. However when I went to install the plenum, I realized the dealership shorted me a bolt (one of the 4 bolts that plugs the holes going through the top of the plenum). Thinking it would not make a difference I found a similar looking bolt and used that. The car would run for a few seconds then die. As well there is a rich smell of fuel. I think I installed everything correctly (I have done it in the past) but the car would not run at all. So I am assuming it was my replacement bolt I used. Is this the problem? Could somebody give me the exact size of the bolts that plug those holes? Has anybody used different bolts to plug the holes that were not included in the kit? Maybe I can order a few bolts from crawford? Any help would be appreciated...thank you.

Just take one of the bolts down to your local hardware store and match it up. If it dies like that my guesses would be an air leak. Any hissing?

Whe using the crawford, you have to plug the holes in the middle of the plenum where the bolts for the OEM plenum are. Your Crawford probably only uses two bolts, and the OEM used 6. You have to plug the 4 holes with small 1/4" screws.

The replacement bolt looked exactly the same except for the washer was not part of the bolt but instead I added one (which I wouldent think makes a difference). I took it apart and installed it twice, and I heard no hissing.

What I did hear was what sounded like a belt rubbing, which I know that was not the problem but the best way for me to describe the sound....now that I think about it, it could have been a hissing sound but very loud. Smelled rich as hell, and would die after 5 seconds.

I plugged all holes (the 2 on the crawford plenum, and the other 4 used with the OEM). What I did use was one screw that did not come with the set, but instead a replacement. Looked exactly the same minus the washer attached to the bolt, but I added a washer. Ugh I have no clue, I guess I will take it apart again for the 3rd time.

Make sure that the rubber surrounding the oil cap isn't stuck in between the plenums?

I used no washers when filling the holes that are no longer used.
