Borla dual exhaust........
Apparently being released shortly, they claim 23 horsepower gain.... The dyno will tell......... Talked about on the other forums...
I'm happy with my stillen exhaust but have same problem as others, the tips aren't centered or equal length.. perhaps adjust with a little heat, (rosebud torch), stainless moves nicely with the right touch.. Will update again.......

Highly doubtful
I would love to see dyno sheets on that.
I called Borla yesterday regarding the exhaust that they currently have for the Z. The guy told me that they never release dyno reports, unless a magazine does a test.
I also asked them why this site claims 10hp/14tq? He couldnt give me an answer. Here is the Link

Yeah, I just confirmed it
I just got off the phone with Borla. The exhaust that is currently out (the one referred to on the above site) is considered a "bolt-on" that just connects to the stock y-pipe. The dual exhaust is not scheduled out for another month or so.

The only way I will believe anything is if a member buys the exhaust and does a before and after. And hopefully they will be honest.

I send a email yestarday and this is they respond about the new Dual System:
The system is not priced until it is released, it is true that you will gain 20+ horsepower on average. the system is due out in about 30-60 days. I talked with my R&D department and they said that it may be sooner but this is the time that is given.
If you have anymore questions please feel free to contact me either by e-mail or by phone (877)462-6752 ext.212
Thanks,

23.5 HP gain from borla exhaust?
This was posted by a borla guy on www.350zforum.com, claiming a 23.5 hp gain..... hmmmmm.... watcha guys think?
"Borla Performance Industries is proud to announce the release of Cat-Back™ system part number 140045. This system has been designed for the 2003 Nissan 350 Z equipped with a 3.5L V6 engine and automatic transmission. The 140045 installs to the flange just after the catalytic converter and eliminates the factory Y-pipe. Like all our systems, it is made from full aircraft quality T304 stainless steel. This system is a true dual exhaust designed with an H-pipe. It is a split rear exiting system with a 4 1/2” single round, rolled edge, angle cut tip at each exit. This system consists of dual 2 1/4” inlet pipes to a 2 1/4” H-pipe assembly. Exiting the H-pipe assembly are dual 2 1/4” pipes to a pair of 14” long by 4” diameter round mufflers. After the mufflers, a pair of 2 1/4” over axle pipes lead to a newly designed X-flow muffler. Our new “True Dual” system has resulted in gains of 23.5 horsepower and 14.7 foot pounds of torque throughout the entire RPM range which is more than brand “S” who claims 13 horsepower and 14 foot pounds of torque@ 5500 RPM and up. Our testing has shown not only that brand “S” does make the power they claim, but it also shows something they fail to mention, that below 5000 RPM they actually lose 10 horsepower. Weight comparisons show that the factory exhaust weighs 62 pounds, brand “S” weighs 74 pounds, and the Borla “True Dual” system weighs only 50 pounds. That is a huge 24-pound savings over brand “S” and a 12-pound savings over the factory exhaust. Combine our new “True Dual” Cat-Back™ exhaust with our newly developed headers (P/N 17221) for gains of up to 25 horsepower and 17 foot pounds of torque. Wow! More power, less weight, great looks and sound!
Can someone tell me how to post dyno charts? If so, I'll post our dyno results so you can see for yourself. "
