I too had the Kinetix HF cats. In my case I took them off & placed back my OEM cats as I could not stand the rasp. I even added silencers in my Injen exhaust which did help a little. This was before the TN kit.

Crawford Headers and Hi-Flow Cats with an Invidia G200 and an "H" pipe. No rasp here. A nice mellow sound that really bellows at WOT. The POPCharger adds to the melody I wouldn't change a thing.

I removed Kinetix high-flow cats, and installed Helix SS Test Pipes. Could you write a little louder please? Thanks.

Guys, I don’t know how many of you have got the same problem, but I have tried all the test pipes in the market, Kinetix, TurboXS, UTR, even the cheap ones on ebay. I have brake ALL of them, if you drive on I-75 down over here watch out for some O2 sensors on the road; they are MINE, 6 of them! I’m tired of having this problem, I refuse to go back to the OEM cats, and I know that my Z does not see the average driving, but still that’s not reason enough to be breaking every 2 moth. Does anyone have got any problems with the hi-flow cats?

im eventually gonna go with fast intentions metallics cats for my NA z they look to be the best out there. And alot of hi end cars use metallic cats . The only problem is hope it doesnt make my Z sound like a m3. Because those cars my friend sound horrid but then again there cars are designed a little diff. Metallic last cats alot longer aswell.

If it's too loud with the pop charger at WOT, then you would not like high flow cats because it will just be louder.

I used to run Nismo exhaust with Crawford HFC and I thought it sounded PERFECT.
I ran TP with Nismo exhaust and took it off the same day I installed it lol...

My current setup is HKS with Crawford HFC, and it's actually not that loud(except on WOT and high rpm)
I can't even hear my Pop Charger anymore though lol...

Love my UR HFC's with the Nismo. Ever since I put them on, the sound really opened up and sounds great, I get lots of compliments on it.

To get more sound, but not possibly too loud, go with Ceramic 400 cell HFC's, like Fast Intentions has. The Metallic 300 Cell, may give you too much sound, and it's hard to quiet the system down unless you remove them.

As far as performance differences to testpipes - you'll only see a rough ~3 HP advantage to the testpipes, too much sound and likely RASP, not to mention all the smell of the unburnt gasses.

Rick, you ever dyno compared TP to HFC after you went FI? My car is almost ready for tuning - I'm looking for 500 whp with the FI metal cats - we'll see if we can get there with those on. If we fall short, might just dyno without exhaust and see what's to be gained going with something less restrictive (though I don't want to).

I've done several before and afters on the car. The cats have been on the car a few months before I went FI (in-fact they are the very first set for our cars that came off the Fast Intentions line - the original test set), and I have never changed or checked the difference. I am going to change the Ceramics to the Metallics in a few weeks...was supposed to do it weeks ago, but just haven't been able to.

I'll be dyno-ing again before the exhaust changes, and then again after, however I am doing more than just changing the CATS, so it won't likely be a true before and after, though general flow wont be changing much from the other changes, if at all.

I just read that Kinetix is AKA Carsound/Magnaflow. Is this true or what?
I might just order some Kinetix HFC since they're $200 cheaper than the Crawford. I wonder how they'll sound with the Borla.
