Stillen Exhaust Question/Problem..!
Ok so I got my exhaust I had it installed it came out almost perfect.. My questions are:
1. When I go over a large pothole/bump I hear a heavy clunk sound, it sounds like its coming the rear passenger side. I checked under the car to see if the exhaust is tighten up all the way.. and it's stiff and tight.. Does anyone who has this Stillen system have a similar problem????? Please help...
2. In order to straighten out the offset of the tip alignment they wedged a large steel pipe between the exhaust and the axle and banged it with a hammer to push back the pipe.. Do you guys think this damaged or messed up the alignment on the spring/shock and the spring hits up against something????
Please help!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks everyone...

This problem is caused by the exhaust hitting the metal bar that sits under the exhaust near the center. You have to get the car up on a rack and pull on it pretty hard to get it to duplicate the problem. The fix is to loosen up the exhaust and raise it up about an inch, and re-secure the clamps. This happend to me when I first installed mine but took 10 min to fix. Its a very annoying sound and hard to locate. Took me a full day of driving and 2 trips up the rack to figure it out. When you feel the exhaust it feels tight. You have to push up hard at the contact point.
Hope this helps.....

thanks dude I know exactly where it is thanks again
How long have you had your stillen exhaust for and do you like the way it feels and performance..notice anything outside of doing a dyno do you noticibly feel an improvement in power or delivery?
Well said Lotus. I have had mine now for about a month and I would have to agree with the statement you made.
Funny enough, I had the same noise you did react3. I was actually pretty concerned at first but once I made the proper adjustments the noise went away and have not heard them since. The sound is great and there is a noticable power increase. In my opinion it is still the best exhaust available. I expected much better from HKS/Greddy and the sound of the injen is embarrassing in my opinion.
Only other complaint I have besides the finish is the weight. It is heavier than stock but with a true dual system, what do you expect.

I got my exhaust from Stillens first shipment. There is a noticable improvement in performance with this exhaust. I have a base dyno when stock. Im going to try to get another done in the next few days. I have seen others dyno the exhaust at 9-12 hp 10-15 tq . Sound is fantastic. Only thing that could be a littler better is the finish.
