Smile HKS Exhaust Installed! Pictures!

Hi Guys!

My local tuner has brought in the HKS Legal Muffler NA exhaust for the 350Z! They brought in 3 sets, one installed in a pal's Black Z, another for export to Australia. One more? Its on my car!

This stainless steel exhaust is the system after the y pipe. Very high quality welding of joints (as expected of HKS). Came with all the necessary bolts and metal gaskets.
Did not weigh the muffler and pipe, but by carrying, it is only very slightly lighter than stock. I was given the info that this HKS exhaust gives 18HP but not told if its at the crank or at the wheels. But I'm putting my bet on the earlier.

Installation is done very quickly by the shop. 15 minutes to take off the stock, another 10 minutes to put on (didn't notice them taking the muffler out of the box + wrapping before the install and missed the chance to take a pic)

After the installation, started the car and there is hardly any audible sound at all..somewhat like the stock exhaust. Revved up the car and there is an urgent muffled low pitched whinning exhaust note. There is also the sputtering sound when the RPM is coming down (like what people hear when they remove their stock exhaust resonator).

Drove and launched my car hard on the road outside the workshop. Ram up the revs to around 4-5K. From inside the cabin, you can only here a slightly more throaty note. But according to people standing by the side of the road, it sounded like a tamed, muffled ferrari exhaust tone, audible but not loud.

I will drive around for a while more and will post a feedback on difference in driving feel/performance. And will record a sound clip too. Meanwhile the installation pictures.

Sweet exhaust and cool exits too.

There is also the sputtering sound when the RPM is coming down (like what people hear when they remove their stock exhaust resonator).
Dont worry about this. Exhausts take time to "burn-in" I just experienced this with my Borla. No difference at first. But two days later in was different! for the better!

The exit opening is 4" by 2" and thickness of the pipe is 1/4".
I paid approximately USD 890 (converted rate) including installation charges. As for the dual muffler mentioned by webcarconnection, it could be another system that is yet to be released. Probably the Super Drager Series?
