Default APS 3" TD Exhaust Owners - Resonating Exhaust

Hey guys,

I recently installed an APS 3" TD exhaust on my 04 G (Greddy TT Set Up). At idle, it seems to oscillate at the natural idle frequency. Essentially it vibrates more than what I would expect.

Anyone else have this problem? Solutions to rectify?

Thanks in advance.

It resonates/oscillates somewhat in a repetative pattern but only at idle. It is not a violent vibration but not what I would consider normal.

a droning sound?

Well bigger exhausts are goning to be more prone. Cant say my car is droning at Idle. Not sure what can be done to fix it. Maybe put some silencers inline.

Looking at this comment from Sharif:

would lead me to believe that if you don't like the noise from APS 3" then your best bet would be to get the greddy evo TT exhaust (as you can see, he built into his post that the APS 3" is inherently noisy)

We have had a similar problem with the APS 3in exhaust hitting the W support that runs across the bottom of the car. It won't actually change the idle rps, but it will change the sound and make it vibrate at idle.

I spaced the W support down so mine doesnt touch. The UK cars have a diff cooler fitted as standard, and its damn tight around that area on the right hand side of the car. We had to do a slight amount of bending to get more radius on the pipe around the sway bars, to clear on that side.
Only ever touches once in a blue moon now.

Its alot of pipework to fit under the car.

My car doesnt have any rubbing issues or weird problems at idle. If you dont like loud, and hearing the cylinders fire this isnt the exhaust for you.

+1, I had it and absolutely loved it! Sounds even better with ported heads, cams, and 3.5" downpipes
