Default Popcharger with Carbon Fiber Tubing

hey whats up....

Ive finally giving in on my original decision to get an Injen CAI, and instead will be getting the popcharger....

just for the price difference is worth it..

but I will admit my initial desire for the Injen was to have something nice looking under the hood..

I found this Carbon Fiber intake tube, that could nicely complement the JWT filter.... I doubt it offers any additinal gains... but im sure it would look nice...

http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/11-2961

any opinions.... or have anyone done the same?

thanks

I think it would look nicer than the Injen. I have the Injen right now and I was thinking of swithing to a similar setup.

Throw a carbon fiber engine cover on there to complete the look.

That tube certainly looks nice, and would compliment a CF engine cover pretty well. As long as the brake and battery cover, the hood, the hatch the doors....

I love carbon fiber!!!

Just make sure that the carbon fiber doesn't have any pieces that are flaking off, such as the clear coat and the carbon threads that may be frayed at the ends of the tube.

Seems as though carbon clear coats (at least on hoods) don't like a lot of prolonged exposure to heat.

Anything that decides to flake off, will end up going straight into your motor.

Outstanding point. I was going to order one of those, but now I'm having second thoughts. Hopefully, someone who has seen this part in-person can give us a clue(?)

It looks like a nice piece. It would look nice w/ a CF radiator shroud.

Exactly what I was thinking (and am about to do, once I find out more about this "flaking" into the engine thing).

I wonder if any dangers could be negated by somehow sealing the ends, with maybe even high temperature tape, before installing?

Any ideas anyone?

I'm convinced. I'm adding that to my order this afternoon (and I don't even like carbon fiber as a cosmetic).

Sh*t !! what a perfect picture...... thats exactly what I was hoping to see.

ya man.. looks really nice... I'll start just with the CF intake tube!..

it adds a perfect touch.. gives a more custom feel..

Maybe I'll add the CF engine cover too. but I read it does not fit when a Plenum spacer is installed.?

motordyne 5/16" spacer lets you retain both engine cover and strut bar.

But if the CF engine cover adds significant thickness (not sure about that) then it might not fit
