So this past week i got my new 3" DMH electronic exhaust cutouts from DMHperformance.com. And i have to say, for a $200.00 mod this thing is really cool!!! Basically it's a length of pipe (3" due to where i put mine, and i have the Nismo catback) with a piece of pipe coming out the side to "dump" the exhaust and bypass the muffler. And instead of having three wingnuts and a flange to remove, you just push a button and it opens up a tightly sealed butterfly valve and bypasses your exhaust!! And the great part is that you can vary how loud your exhaust is when ever you want!
There has been talk of raspiness and loss of backpressure before, but those people had bought two of the smaller ones and put them just after their cats. To hopefully overcome both i installed mine just before the last bend before the muffler, so the resonator would still offer some muffling and hold in some backpressure. And it worked!!!! It sounds incredible!!!! Imagine your stock exhaust note that we all love, amplified 4 times!!! And you can hear the cam lope nicely when excelerating now!!! (Only car i can think to compare it to is the Volkwagon R32s, which have a real clean rumble when excelerating) I have felt no loss of power, if anything i have gained a bit at higher RPMs. And since it's so close to the muffler, there is zero rasp!!!
I highly recomend this to someone who may have stock exhaust, and is just looking for a cheap cool way to add more volume, and doesn't want to spend big bucks on a whole new set up!! It does drone on the highway. But that's the beauty of it, cause in 2 seconds you can make it stock again!!
Pics. Just washed the car, that's why it looks wet.

so the whole purpose of this is to make more noise and pollute the environment, also decreasing any backpressure your system may produce therefore hurting any little performance you may think you was going to get from this. go you, thanks for showing everyone what not to do with their 350Z, personally i think it cheapens the car by making it sound like a honduh with a fart tip exhaust.
