i thought it was a catback. but when i was checking my stock exhaust components today, i can't find the y-pipe... is it still on the car? so doesn't that make the exhaust a y-pipe back?

A photo of the new exhaust laying on the ground would be helpful.

A cat-back exhaust is complete from the catalytic converters back. If the cannot connect the new exhaust to the catalytic converters, then you are missing parts.
