We are offering this system for $2250 shipped. It is the best system out for the Z currently, especially when the massive weight reduction is factored in.

Can you be more specific about the weight reduction? Amount?
Thanks

I would've went with the Amuse exhaust immediately if they would only release the Y-Pipe with it.

The pricing of these exhausts is absolutely ridiculous... Titanium or not, I can't justify spending $2000+ for a muffler...

I'm with you on that. Even complete systems for more than $1000 seem ridiculous to me. Its just some bent pipe and a muffler.

FWIW,

I purchase golf component heads in large quantities, and I get the stainless steel 200 gram head for 10 dollars and the titanium 200 gram head for 20 dollars. I could see the exhaust being twice as expensive, but not the price they want. Besides, titanium isn't nearly as rare as it used to be. Same thing with diamonds

Unfortunately the price is mostly R&D. I sell titanium joint replacements for a living. My price of $4k-$10k per implant is not the cost of the metal, its the research and liability.

I understand R&D for human joint replacements, but would this apply for exhaust systems?

well titanium can be molded into larger shapes w/ the same amount of material, but I am not sure how it mandrel bends.
From the look of the exhaust, it seems like it doesnt bend all that well. I know welding titanium is a bit tougher, but it isnt any tougher to cut, although it is slightly tougher to get a mirror finish on.

I don't think there would be an R&D difference between the two from a design standpoint. They might have blown some money on the prototypes, but then again i would like to think they made the prototypes out of stainless.

Costwise, there is 18 lbs of titanium there. A raw ingot of titanium in 2000 cost 10-12 USD per pound, but has since dropped. So 180-196 in metal cost going on old figures.

my titanium driver heads cost the foundries roughly 4 in raw metal, a buck max for the paint. They have machines churning these things out and they sell them direct for a cost of 15 dollars per head. If you would say it takes 10x as much time in overseas labor to get this exhaust made vs. the hour of time it takes to get a driver head ready, then you just know they are making a killing on this product. I am envious and intrigued. You might see me in the titanium exhaust market in the future

But really, titanium exhausts are just way overpriced. I want to see Dell Exhaust!
